Creating Connections with JAG

Shaylyn Smith, Reporter

Jobs for America’s Graduates is a national non profit organization. This program has been around for 5 years in Kansas and around 30 years nationally. Currently at North, the JAG class is lead by Mrs.Natalie who is a Wichita State graduate, with a bachelors in communications.

This program is shifted towards students that have “barriers” as Mrs. Natalie described them.  She says ” these barriers are things such as the students parents not graduating”.

In JAG you’ll learn about financial literacy, job readiness, and many other life skills necessary to succeed. Mrs. Natalie says she’s very close with her students and keeps in touch up to a year after graduation. In this class you go on visits to college campuses around Kansas often.

When asked what their favorite thing about JAG was, current student Joseph Blea said “The connections you make with people “. Continue to make connections and see if you’re eligible for this class, which you can talk to Mrs. Natalie in room A116B.
