Drama department wins award at Thespian conference

More than two thousand students all over Kansas met at the Hyatt Regency for the 72nd annual Thespian Conference. Thespians from as far as Garden City and Kansas City came to the conference that lasted from Thursday January 5th through Saturday January 7th. While at the conference, North High school received a gold award which is the highest level that a drama troop can earn in Kansas. According to Michelle Silva, the Thespian Conference is “where all Thespians from Kansas come together in like a dramacon.” During the conference students had the opportunity to watch performances done by their fellow thespians. Students also participated in workshops ranging such as acting, stage craft, technology, dancing, and even yoga. About 30students from North High School participated in the conference.
