Adoption Rates at the Kansas Humane Society

The Kansas Humane Society is located on 3313 N Hillside in Wichita, Kansas. The main purpose is to help abandoned and homeless animals.

The Kansas Humane Society offers many services like pet adoption, pet supplies, dog training, and spaying and neutering.

In 2017 there was a total of 8,973 animals adopted from the humane society. In 2018 there was a total of 8,432 animals adopted. Since January 1, 2019 there have been 5,473 total animals adopted from the humane society.

Currently there are 64 dogs, 80 cats, and 8 small animals available to adopt.

Allison Waldt said she uses Instagram or goes in person in order to see what animals are available to adopt. “I have gotten one animal from the humane society- a cat,” Waldt said. She also said that she would consider adopting from the human society again.

Jennifer Amina says she looks at the dogs and cats there. she typically looks at the website to see the animals they have up for adoption. “Yeah, if I could I would adopt every single animal in there,” said Amina.

To adopt an animal you do have to be over 18 or have a parent with you, and you must have a current photo ID. There is also a survey you need to fill out so they can narrow down the options they have to show you.
