North hosts annual pancake feed

On Saturday August 24, North held its annual Pancake Feed in the cafeteria. Visitors had unlimited pancakes for just $5 a person. The fall sports kickoff parade at 9:30 a.m which was a great start to kicking off our fall sports. Many of our Alumni came as a tradition. We had our North High gear on sale outside the cafeteria. The ladies working the sale told us that all that they make goes to making two athletic scholarships and the rest go to all the sports teams. It is divide by how many volunteers come from each sports team.

Wrestling coach Mr. Burgess and his family volunteered to make the pancakes. They said that they do it together every year as a family event. They arrive at North at 7 a.m. to start making the pancakes, and estimate that they make at least 2,000 pancakes an hour. Which in total means they make about 8,000 pancakes every year.
