Flu and cold hitting home

Flu and cold season is at its peak. Students left and right coughing and sneezing during class.

Absences soar as students fall with illness, a reminder to stay sanitary and healthy from Nurse Mills “staying safe is always washing your hands, sneezing and coughing into your elbow.” Last years flu and cold epidemic hit hard.

The flu vaccine does not protect against the virus but protects against the severeness of the virus. New strains surfaced hospitalizing many, and spreading quickly. The stress to practice good hygiene and staying home if running a fever was expressed greatly.

KWCH reported flu cases are down this year. To prevent another soar in illness and absences, coughing and sneezing into your elbow and frequently washing hands is students best bet to staying healthy.
