How to sleep better and feel better

April Draut, Reporter

Reflecting on your day and being able to let go of the events throughout the day is essential to a peaceful mindset and quality sleep. On Monday, November 26, the group discussed how to do just that. Starting with setting the right mood to calm down by playing quiet music. To begin the calming of your mind focus on your breathing. Notice how it feels currently and then take a few deep breaths exhaling the negativity from the day. Next give thanks for everything in your life. Gratitude will keep you humble and in a positive mindset. Then you will review your day. Notice how you reacted to things, your thoughts to that reaction or situation. Notice what you learned from the situation event or action. Then let it all go. Accept that it happened and that it is in the past. There is no need to worry about it anymore. Now your mind is calm and at peace. If you still have trouble sleeping at night you can try limiting screen time during the day and before bed especially. Our next meeting will be Monday December 3rd during lunch in the new gym mezzanine. Come calm your mind.
