The Grinch 2018 review

Jennifer Anima, Reporter

As time passes it gets closer and closer to Christmas and people begin to watch christmas originals, specials and movies on television. The new trend when it comes to movie making seems to be recreating extremely popular movies like The Lion King, Cinderella, Dumbo, and Aladdin. A classic when it comes to Christmas movies has to be “How The Grinch Stole Christmas.” The two most popular are the original that came out in 1966 which was only a T.V special,l and the newer one that came out in 2000. This year yet another Grinch movie came out and hit movie theatres November 9th.

This animated movie is based on the classic book that has become a Christmas tradition to some around the world. It leans towards the original 1966 T.V special and skips the love story in the 2000 movie. The Grinch, an orphan who hates Christmas tries to destroy Christmas for the Who’s in Whoville but throughout this realizes the true meaning of Christmas. Along with Max the dog, a new adorable reindeer named Fred tags along which creates some freshness to the movie, adding new elements. The movie is great for people of any age especially children. Although this Grinch movie is incredibly funny and super cute to watch it cannot compare to the 2000 film which is better than the 2018 film.
