U.S. Missile Kills 40 Yemen Children

In early August, a missile that the U.S. sold to a Saudi coalition was fired on Yemen. It hit a school bus and killed 40 Yemen children.

The bomb was assembled by U.S. defense contractor Lockheed Martin. In 2016, President Barack Obama banned the sale of military technology to Saudi Arabia, but the ban was overturned by President Donald Trump in March 2017.

The administration claims they do not have control over how the weapons they supply are used, and isn’t taking responsibility for the attack.  Secretary of Defense James Mattis told CNN, “We do help them plan what we call, kind of targeting. We do not do dynamic targeting for them.”

The Saudi Coalition has taken full responsibility for the attack and has said it is investigating.
