Singing for North

Montzerrath Reyes, Reporter

At North, we have five choirs, including  a younger Womens Chorus, which has more than 70 freshman.

Students often .think choir “isn’t for them”. But choir students say it can be for anyone, even if they think they can’t sing.

Choir director Amy Davidson has been leading North choirs for 13 years. Senior Rainii Hoffman said, “I think it makes you better to be in multiple choirs”

After being in choir one year, students get the opportunity to move up to a different choir. For example, if you start off as a freshman in Women’s Chorus you can go up to the Women’s Ensemble as a sophomore. There are many students who are in multiple choirs.

Senior Rainii Hoffman is in Women’s Ensemble (known as Nocturnes), Concert Choir, and Madrigals. She said, “I think it makes you better to be in multiple choirs”

To participate in Madrigals, students have to audition and be selected. There is a limit of 24 students.
