Jennifer Anima couldn’t believe. Neither could her classmates.

When Ms. Von Fange pointed in the direction the Junior class as winners of the spirit stick, everyone in the section went crazy.

“At first we thought it was a joke because we knew nobody would believe we actually won,” said Anima, who has been a cheerleader for the last two years. “But when we saw they were serious, we were excited. It felt good to win.”

The winner of the spirit stick is decided based on points awarded by multiple judges. Categories that they are graded on are: posters, school spirit, wearing red and white and sportsmanship.
