North High’s new principal

There’s a new face in charge of North High: Lori Doyle. Mrs. Doyle takes over for Sherman Padgett, who is now the head principal at Heights.

This is a new school year and a lot of changes were made. Ms. Doyle is starting to take those district policies seriously and wanting students to succeed throughout the school year. Many of the staff here at North have known Ms. Doyle for quite some time.

“I have met her in Dallas at an Avid training in 2011,” History teacher Vivian Brandenberg said.

“We have known each other since she was the principal at Southeast,” librarian Perla Olivas said.

Many of the teachers have met her before and have said many positive things about her and are hoping to have a great school year with Doyle.

Many of the students here at North do not know much of the new principal, but this past week there has been an assembly in the auditorium during advocacy for each grade in which she introduced herself as well as the staff at North.

The assembly mainly focused on what she wants North to be known as and how she wants students at North to succeed. Doyle wants this school year to be full of respect towards teachers, students and staff.

Doyle wants to motivate students to participate in these events so later on in life they can have great memories to remember from their high school years at North.
