Should the school day be shortened?

Dear Editor:

School. Elementary was fun. Middle school was ok. But high school comes flying at you like a 200 mph brick. That is why the school hours need to be changed to shorter hours. The average amount of homework a high school student gets is at least 2 hours a night. Now think about that. If the student has rigorous classes and if they do a sport that leaves them very little time to get homework done.

Rigorous classes plus homework along with sports and studying equals very little time to get things done and no life.  As being a teenager with rigorous as well as all the things I need to do for school, and after is really a challenge and that leaves me with no life. Another thing is if you go to North and you have Morales for honors U.S 1 or A.P history that class is very hard and time consuming. But you have to study and do your homework for that class or you will fail quickly. Trust me I would know. When you have his class it’s hard to get other homework done from your other classes. That’s why the school hours should be changed.

These examples just brings me back to why the school hours should be changed. Too much work in such little time. It’s overwhelming for some high school students including me. Teachers and higher authorities may think no, it’s pointless but to some high school students its honestly not. Thank you for your time to read this article about changing school hours.
