Baseball sweeps South

Wednesday, the 4th, the Redskins beat South twice, 14-4 and 15-5. Senior Sage Irwin struck out 15 batters in game 1, said in regards to the team “We definitely have the talent and team chemistry, it just all about executing and minimizing errors.” In the second game, Rene Carrizalez threw 5 innings, striking out 5 batters and Ty Bruckner hit 5 for 9, scoring 5 runs for the double header. North had a combined total of 22 hits for both games. Head Coach Randy Griffitts said, “I’m proud of how we came out and played after our first double header (losses against Northwest). There are things we need to improve on, but I’m pleased with how we attacked the bases and how we hit.” North is now 2-2 on the season.
