Teens Voting

April Draut, Hilario Escalon, reporter

Today the voting age is 18 and the number of teens voting is very low. Janice Bradley is just one of the many people working to encourage teens to vote. The purpose of the ‘Register. Be counted. Vote,’ movement is to “get young adults registered because they are underrepresented in voting.”Janice Bradley said. The change in voting laws has made it harder for young adults to be able to vote. “The voting laws changed in 2012-2013 with new requirements to register to vote only for the newest voters registering 18 year olds. So in the last 5 years, 18-23 year olds have not been able to register like older voters did.” Janice Bradley said.
