The 2018 North High’s Baseball team new head coach Randy Griffitts feels pretty confident about how his team will perform and the season ahead of them.

“We have a big chance to compete against anybody in the city,” Griffitts said. “Our top core players are as good as anybody else’s. It’s gonna be a matter of our supporting cast playing well and if they do we’ll have a good year.”

North has a strong core of returners.

“Our top players are senior Sage Erwin, he is a pitcher and outfielder, senior Jordan Gomez is my shortstop, sophomore Diego Escamilla plays everywhere.”

“I expect them to compete, to play hard, to feel like when they get on the field they can win, I think that’s what we’ve been fighting for recently, the ability to know that when you step out in the field you do what you can do and win”.

Their first game is on March 29th against North West at West Urban.
