Poetry Out Loud

Marlen Castaneda and Carlie Nagy

Poetry Out Loud is a national poetry reciting competition. Students get involved by participating in the classroom competition and from there they move on to the school competition. If their teachers didn’t host a competition students are able to talk to the organizer, Lara Engle, and get an audition. Engle is hosting the school competition which is located in the library. The school wide competition is on Jan. 24th. Students are judged by teachers from the school and this years special guest is Suzanne Tobias. The winner of the school competition moves on to the regional competition which includes 5-10 students. The winner(s) go to state, which leads into nationals. We wish the best of luck to our competitors!
