This last weekend the drama class went to The Kansas Thespian Festival. It was held at the Hyatt Regency and Century two performing arts and convention center. Each year about 1,800 students attend the three day festival. They  can choose  between nearly  200 different workshops which are taught  by high school drama teachers, college professors and other guest artists from around the country. The students also got to see a couple performances, a group of students from North saw Urinetown and Moon over Buffalo. Alyssa Goerzen and Janelly Balthazar said “We got to do a bunch of cool stuff there we took a couple workshops.” Another North student Joshua McCreery said “we also found a cute little turtle there. I named him Burrito and fed him a carrot.” Overall, the students had a good time. There were a large verity of classes and workshops for them to attend; a few of those are Choreography, Prop Building, stage presence, Vocal and Tech. “My favorites were Tech and Prop Building,” Balthazar said.  “I think my favorite part was either Choreography or the turtle” McCreery said. “Well I think the best was the plays we got to watch,” Goerzen said. Some of the students got to take a choreography class that taught them dances from Broadway performances like Hamilton.
