Circle of Friends bring students together

North high has always taken pride in helping students belong and one of those ways is Circle of Friends.
Assistant Principal Tom Perkins who helped bring Circle of Friends to North high said,  “The mission is to get students with disabilities and the general population to intermingle.”
Senior Miguel Bernal has been a part of circle of friends since his freshman year.
“The kids are super cool, I got to know all the kids and love all of them.”
So far, 16 students have joined circle of friends. Students can join by showing up and signing in.
Diego Escamilla, who’s in circle of friends says,
“It’s a way to get involved with the school and a great way to communicate with others.”
His favorite part is doing hands on projects. Most recently, students painted pumpkins for the month of October.

Upcoming event for Circle of friends is the Snowflake swirl dance. All of the schools in the Wichita special ed program have the chance to show off their dance skills on, Thursday November 9th at Springhill suites.
Schools participating will nominate candidates for King and Queen.
Mrs. Crippin says that the dance is where “students get to experience what normal high school things are.”
