A $1,000 surprise

On October 4th of 2017, the music department at North high was hit with an amazing surprise. During 8th hour, concert choir, head principal Sherman Padgett walked in and brought in four men with black and gold suits. Jim Johnson, the director of communications of the Harmony Foundation, started talking about how they were all about “keeping music alive in the world.” Afterwards they were serenaded by a barber shop quartet. The whole choir immediately fell in love with their voices and were very pleasantly surprised. As soon as that ended Johnson went up to Davidson and awarded her with a check of $1,000. “I don’t know whats happening” said Davidson as soon as she was handed the check. This all wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for North’s very own Dave Riches who is a North alum. He nominated North’s choir for this very donation.
