New food & drink rule bothers some students

At the beginning of the 2013 school year, students learned about a few changes in policies and procedures at North. One of them causing the most uproar is a policy of not being able to have food or drinks in a carpeted classroom.

Senior Megan Reed said, “I think the rule makes sense, but it will be hard for students not to eat or drink in the classrooms because we are so used to doing it.”

The new policy also affects those students who would eat in classrooms during the lunch period – now they have to find a new place to eat.

On the other hand, Senior Breana Clark said, “I don’t mind the new rule, because it does keep the school clean. It could keep the students focusing more on school work than eating.”
