DECA

DECA had a competition at Newman University. They go there and take a test about the category they choose. Then they roleplay a scenario. They are given the scenario for 10 minutes to take notes and figure out ways to fix the problem(s).Jason Hildebrand placed third in food marketing. “It was a great feeling. There was a little pressure after winning last semester. I wasn’t for sure I could do it with there being more schools, but I had support from everyone and that gave me confidence to try my hardest,” Hildebrand said.
Maria Sifuentes placed second in restaurant management. “Hearing my school and name being called out on stage proves hard work does pay off,” Sifuentes said. Kylie Lucent placed fourth in food marketing.
“I think DECA offers the opportunity to get a real feel for what the business world has to offer young entrepreneurs. It’s a great way to get yourself out there and get a new experience that can change your life,” Lucent said. The next step is going to state competition in KC on March 5th to the 7th.
