October 29, 2016 the North high cross country team went to state. The girls placed 9th overall. Lexi Inscho placed 11th place and Gabriela Reyna placed 3rd.

Coach Mike Pope said “the team performed very well the girls finished in 9th place which was the best place since I have been coaching.”

He also said Martin Anima and Issac Nelson performed very great and they could’ve done better but overall they did well. “It was a successful season with all the runners 60 runners improving in their times.”
Running the Rim Rock course is always difficult according to Inscho.
“Rim rock has a lot of hills you run up four hills during the entire race I just worked during the first mile and after a mile there’s the first major hill and I just focused on driving up the hill and passing girls who went out to fast and were feeling it on the first hill and so I worked on pushing myself on those hills.”
The runners who represented North at state were: Morgan Smith, Yulissa Cervantes, Aby Meza, Mariela Ornelas, Gabriela Reyna, Lexi Inscho, Keyla Mendoza, Martin Anima, and Issac Nelson.
