This new school year for the Redhawks has started off smoothly, especially for the football team and their head coach Mitch Kucera. The football team has been working the hard over the summer to prepare them for this season’s games and have been practicing and conditioning like none other.
“This year is an entirely different program than before I started here, and it’s totally changed in a positive way,” Kucera said.
Kucera and the other football coaches have been pushing the players to their fullest this year and even during the summer for conditioning. Despite having many doubters, the team and Kucera believe their fortunes change this year for the Redhawk Football team. “This team will play hard, football savvy, confident, and will truly believe in the football program,” Kucera said.
The first game is on Friday, September 6th at 7p.m. against Liberal at Wichita Northwest. The football team is not quite ready yet for this game but have very much improved being ready this year than last year’s game against Southeast for the first game. “Yes, we will be ready for are first game and we are already showing well, better than last year,” Kucera said.
