Thursday, August 31st, was the boys’ soccer first game this season going against South at South High’s field. The final score was 3-1, giving the boy’s a strong victory start.

“It was a good game overall; I’d say we as a team need to work on scoring precisely. The final score should’ve or could’ve been higher, but it’s the beginning of the season, we didn’t start off bad, we’re going to give it our all the rest of the season”, says Yahir Garcia.

“First game of the season and we started off strong with a win. We had multiple opportunities to score more goals, but we have our next game Monday and I’m positive we’ll do better in scoring”, says Luis Contreras-Figueroa.

Coach Wullschleger agrees, the boys could’ve scored more goals, there were 20 goals blocked, but rewarded a box kick goal throughout the game. Nevertheless, with four missed kicks offs, boys’ varsity overall won the victory against South and coach is sure they could score more goals next game.
