North started off on a rough start, losing the first three games of the season.

However, the team quickly turned its fortunes around, winning three in a row before losing East last week.

The momentum shifted with a hard-fought victory at Bishop Carroll, 3-2. It was the first time in a decade that North has won at Carroll.

Senior, Oscar Vitela scored the game winning goal in overtime. It was Vitela’s third goal of the game, giving him his first varsity hat trick.

“Going hard next game, we’re a strong team,” says Oscar Vitela. “We’re going forward and we’re not looking back” he said.

North followed the Carroll victory with wins over South and Heights. Vitela scored hat tricks in each, giving him three in a row.

“We talk about getting everyone’s best shot. The boys embrace the challenge and are energized by it. They know that we need to bring our best performance for every game because we have a target on our backs. Coach Sullivan and I have discussed how this might be our toughest coaching season yet as both of us have brand new teams. We’ll see what we’re made of in the next few weeks of city league play,” Coach Curt Wullschleger said.
