Girls Swim Season Has Begun

The girls 2021-2022 swim and dive team are off. Thursday, March 31st, the girls swam at Heights High School in a triangular against Bishop Carroll and Heights. Amazing swims were swam and great times were put up for the season.

The first meet out the relays placed first and second. There were two swimmers who placed in the top three for their events. Raimi Huggins placed third in the 100 yard breastroke. Marie Loest placed second in the 200 yard freestyle and third in the 100 yard backstroke.

Now to the event of the evening. The 200 yard medley relay, Marie Loest, Raimi Huggins, Cora Daggett, and Sophia Rice qualified for state the first meet out. It was a close race but North managed to pull ahead and finish first to Bishop Carroll.

“I am ecstatic about my first school season of swim. The first meet was super fun and I can’t wait for the rest of the season. These girls are amazing people to be around,” Raimi Huggins said after her very first school meet.

All the girls are jumping out of the seats for the rest of the meets. After the first state qualified event the girls are ready to see how fast they can go and see how many other events they can get. State is coming up soon and the ladies are ready to make a move.
