Tennis Girls Win Over West

The girls tennis team played against West High on Tuesday, August 31st having a victory of 7-2.”It was a great game all the players worked very hard and had a lot of fun,” Coach Sarah Killenberg said.

The temperature was really high on Tuesday causing a few of the players to start feeling sick.  They took a five minute break and got back to playing winning their matches.

“They had good sportsmanship and it was a fun game to play against them not only that but getting to know them during the game was good as well,” says Isabella Hernandez player for the North High tennis team. Overall both teams enjoyed playing and learning new techniques from each other. 

The scores for varsity singles were:

#1 Varsity singles: Lupita Perez VS Bri Villanueva- West took the win Lupita had to forfeit due to injury.

#2 Varsity singles: Wendy Martinez VS Jessi Kirkendoll- North took the win 6-3, 6-3.

#3 Varsity singles: Larissa Garcia VS Ty’Airra Harduell- North took the win 6-1, 6-3.

#4 Varsity singles: Sandra Vazquez VS Samiya Coleman- West took the win Sandra had to forfeit due to injury.

#5 Varsity singles: Valentina Fierros VS Maya Sillas- North took the win 6-4, 6-1.

#6 Varsity Singles: Isabella Hernandez VS Priscilla Cruz-North took the win 6-0, 6-0.

 

The scores for varsity doubles were:

#1 Perez/Martinez VS Villanueva/ Kirkendoll- North took the win 6-0, 6-1.

#2 Garcia/Vazquez VS Harduell/Coleman- North took the win 6-2, 6-3.

#3 Fierros/Hernandez VS Sillos/Cruz- North took the win 6-1, 6-1.
