Heights hosted a varsity meet on Friday the 23rd. Taryn St.Clair took 1st place in high jump with a jump of 5 feet 6 inches. She is now ranked #1 in the state is aiming to beat the schools record of 5 feet 6 3/4 inches. Taryn said,”It was a height I’ve never tried before so when I went up and over and I felt the bar tap my back but I never heard it fall, and that’s when I knew it was still up I rolled over and looked at my sister and coaches and I was very happy.” Taryn will attend next meet at East and hopefully continue to increase her height. Katie Blessman also medaled and took 3rd in javelin. She had never thrown before and she only had two practices before getting put into a meet. She ended up throwing a personal best of 87 feet and took 3rd out of 11 girls.  Riannon St.Clair placed first in triple jump, second in long jump, and third in high jump. She is now ranked #1 in the city for triple jump. Mikell Hamilton-Thompson placed third in 300 meter hurdles. Head coach Kucera states. ” Meet went very well, we keep improving which is the goal, so then we can be ready in mid May for city and regionals.”
