The boys soccer teams prides itself on defense.

Through four games, it shows.

North collected its third shutout in four games, defeating West on Tuesday, 2-0 at West.

“The defense is fast, physical, technically sound, and read the game at a high level,” Head coach Curt Wullschleger said. ” The shutouts have been a total team effort as we stress to them that not allowing any goals is job #1.  The old adage that the best defense is a good offense also applies to our team.”

West tried to slow the North offense by packing the defense within 18 yards. It worked for most of the first half until Uriel Aguilera-Fernandez found the back of the net with five minutes remaining.

Overall, Wullschleger was proud of the effort, especially coming off the teams first loss of the season.

“The boys rebounded quickly from the loss because they played well in defeat and know that we can win the next one,” he said.  “If anything we were too confident which hurt our focus.  Every game will be hard fought.  There are no easy wins in the City League.”

North is back in action on Saturday against Heights.
