Boys soccer wins again

The boys soccer team earned it’s second win in a row, defeating South 8-0 at South last night.

Uriel Aguilera-Fernandez and Roberto Segura each scored two goals for North. Once again, North got off to an early lead.

“We scored twice off of corner kicks in the first five minutes, so that got us off on the front foot,” Head coach Curt Wullschleger said.

For the second time in two games, the defense held the opposition scoreless.

“The whole team takes great pride in shutouts.  The main thing so far is just smart play avoiding big mistakes,” Wullschleger said. “Effective defending doesn’t always have to be pretty.  Grinding out tough plays to keep our opponents off of the scoreboard is a top priority for our team.”

Through two games, Wullschleger has been impressed with his team’s showing, but has been impressed specifically with Aguilera-Fernandez on offense.

“He has taken his game to the next level,” Wullschleger said. “He is defending high up in the pitch which is creating chances for us.”

North is back in action tomorrow against East at East.
