McDonald’s Shamrock Makes a Comeback

What’s the hype about the McDonald’s Shamrock McFlurry and Shake?

The McDonald’s Oreo Shamrock McFlurry features a vanilla soft serve mixed with Oreo wafer pieces and the same mint-flavored Shamrock syrup as the Shamrock Shake. You can get a Shamrock Shake or the new Oreo Shamrock McFlurry.

We decided to find out what the hype was all about ourselves.

“The shake wasn’t that good. It was not that minty as the McFlurry. I rate it a 6/10. But the McFlurry was good it tasted like a peppermint pattie candy: 10/10.”- Anayareli Nunez

“I give the McFlurry a 9/10, it was too small for a large, but the shake was a 6/10. It’s good but not great.”- Alexa Almeda

“I personally give the shake a 6/10, it was too minty for me.”- Yessica Gonzalez

The Shamrock Shake usually returns around this time for St. Patrick’s Day. It was originally introduced in 1970. Initially the shake was lemon/lime flavored with a vanilla ice cream, lemon/lime sherbet, and vanilla syrup. By 1973, the shake was a light green colored vanilla shake, removing the lemon/lime sherbet and being replaced with the mint flavoring.
