Anthony Douglas has been coaching and teaching since the fall of 2000. Teaching North High’s AP Literature class for two years and coaching softball,  Douglas is taking on the role as Athletic Director.

Graduating from Fort Hayes this last May, Douglas received a Masters degree in Building Administration. As an Athletic Director, the title comes with the responsibility of checking every athletes physical, residency, grades, scheduling buses, facilities and attending games.

“I’m most excited for competition to start. So far this year has been busy and unpredictable,” Douglas said.

The first fall sports game is volleyball at Southeast. The first event planned by Mr. Douglas is the Pancake Feed which is Saturday, August 24th. Volleyball and Football scrimmages will take place at North after the Feed.

There have been changes for Douglas going from an English teach to Athletic Director.

“You’re investing more and working directly with coaches to help them rather than working directly with students,” he said.

During his time in high school Douglas played Basketball and Baseball. His message to all atheltes playing sports this year is “Get out there, enjoy it and go make memories.”
