North had two staff members get nominated  for the Good Apple award for USD 259. On December 3rd, Drama teacher Tyrone Galbreath and custodian  Christina Alvarez received the Good Apple. The nominations for the Good Apple can come from the community member, staff member and students. They usually don’t disclose who nominated the candidate. You can nomaite staff,community members that are partners its for people have gone above and beyond that have gone over there normal job standards. ” above and beyond is what we want to celebrate.” Good Apple is a district wide recognition for the effort to honor outstanding service by volunteers and employees and school partners.

The good apple awards happens in fall, winter and spring. Three are awarded per school.  Galbreath said it was a great opportunity to represnt North and he appreciated whoever nominated him. He wouldn’t think people would recgonize his achievement, but overall it was a pleasant surprise. Alvarez said she was really happy that she got nominated.
