I Am You – Stray Kids review

Linett Arriaga, Reporter

‘Stray Kids’ is a South Korean k-pop band and consists of nine members: Bang Chan, Kim woo-jin, Lee know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, Jeongin. Recently, the group made a comeback which was very different then their past two comebacks. Within a year they have already have had three comebacks and I personally really liked the type of music they have produced. This comeback though is very different then the past two. It’s more calming and shows how much they appreciate their friendship. The concept of this comeback is all of the members hanging out and having a good time. Their genre of music changed as the new comeback came, its more calm and not their usual hip hop/rock. I Am YOU is clearly designed as a spotlight for Stray Kids’ growing maturity, putting more focus on mood and sentiment than innovative song construction. The instrumental backbone really gives a unique texture that makes you just want to listen to it over and over. They’re rookies when it comes to the k-pop community, within a year they have become so popular and have been blowing in different parts of the world. They aren’t like many other k-pop group who have similar concepts. a lot of people don’t like similar concepts when to k-pop groups or the genre of music they perform. I am very proud of their new music plus they are doing so well on billboards and Korean charts.
