North celebrates annual Waterfest

Seniors compete in Tug-of-war at Waterfest

North held it’s 88th annual Waterfest last Friday.

Kayak races were held for the first time in 3 years, while also maintaining the class versus class tradition. Waterfest featured food trucks, tug-of-war, games, and canoe/kayak races. Antonio Hernandez, of HALO, was quoted saying “This was my first time staying for Waterfest. I always leave but I’m really glad I stayed this year.”

Tower Royalty was also announced during Waterfest. Tower Royalty is nominated by staff and this year’s winners were Autumn Reves and Miguel Bernal. Waterfest was also commenced by the traditional parade, showcasing spring sports, clubs, and our music department. Sophomore Johnah Grant said “I loved being in the parade, it gives you a whole different perspective of the fest.”
