iPhone 5s will now come in its traditional black, white and even gold. Just like the iPhone 5, this iPhone is made out of aluminum, so that the batteries can be easily accessed. The phone still has the 4in screen but the home button now  has a fingerprint scanner. This feature will make it next to impossible for people to break into your phone.

If you are planning on getting Apple’s cheaper version of the iPhones, the iPhone 5c, then you can expect the same 4-inch screen, and the same camera features. However, you will not get the finger print scanner, known as Touch ID. But you can choose from multiple colors like green, blue, white, pink and yellow.

No matter what phone you get, you will have the latest software, IOS 7. Multiple people who have updated to the new software say it reminds them of an Android set up, but they still think IOS 7 is great. One student said, “It’s great. I like the new software. It’s really cool.”   The new operating system comes with AirDrop. This feature allows easy access to some of your most-used apps and most common settings, like music, Wi-Fi, brightness and Bluetooth.

Even some of the apps have been improved. The camera app for iPhone 4s( and up) can take pictures with special effects, like black and soft touch. This means you can delete all those photo shop apps. The photo app now categorizes your photos based on the date you took or downloaded the photo. You can also delete your flashlight app, because IOS7 now provides it for you. Another change is that your search bar for your phone is no longer on its own separate app page but instead all you have to do is pull down on any of your app pages and your search bar will appear.

In an Android Authority drop test, where they dropped both phones on their back, side and front, the iPhone 5s escaped with minimal damage when dropped on its back and side. When dropped on its front, the phone had no damage whatsoever. However, when its partner was dropped on its side and back, the phone had no damage what soever. But when dropped on its front, the screen shattered completely. Even after the drop test, both phones still turned on and still functioned.

The new design for both phones and IOS7 complement each other nicely. No matter what phone you get, you are almost guaranteed to love your new phone.
