Christmas at the convent

In addition to being a huge Nebraska football fan, Sister Diana is a part of a convent that she loves dearly “it’s been a great fit for me my whole life” She feels “spiritually nourished” saying it “makes my life fruitful”.

Sister Diana is the Director of Community Life at her convent; that title entails “creating an environment for the sisters at our convent that feels like home”, Sister Diana plays a big role in keeping the convent organized and making sure the sisters are cared for.

Around the holidays things get busy and responsibilities grow because the community likes to get more involved by doing things like coming to sing and celebrate with the sisters. Their convent opens up for a “midnight mass” which attracts many people. Sister Diana takes some sisters shopping for items to make presents for a gift exchange.

Sister Diana says, “at first glance you see a group of older women and you might think that they don’t have much power, I want people to know that we are a powerhouse of prayer and love”.
