Cross Country goes to state
October 30, 2017
The Cross country team went to state on Saturday, October 28th. They ran at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kansas.
The Boys team consisted of seven runners and the girls team had one runner, Abigail Meza, who individually qualified for state. The boys finished in 9th place as a team overall and Meza finished in 70th place individually. ” In my opinion I did better than I thought I did because I set a new PR,” Meza said.
For Isaac Nelson and Gabriel Chinya, it was their last cross country meet. They are both very happy with how they ran. “In my opinion I ran fairly well at state, I set a season PR (Personal Record) and a course PR”.
The team has made many memories this year. Jared Milner’s favorite memory of this season was “Going to state with the team and running then despite not running as well as I hope I did”. For the other teammates it was at the El Dorado meet when they spilled water on Coach Bookout and at the Emporia meet dumping the water jug on Coach Nigg.
