October 16, 2017
JROTC is now halfway through the drill season with so far three 1st place trophies and one 2nd place all in the past meet they had on Thursday. Exhibition and the LET 1 drill teams are just now starting as they prepare to compete in Ozark, Missouri in December.
“We have had many come out this year which gives us alternates, we are so far starting the season out great,” Sargent Major said.
Drill is just one of many events JROTC has had these couple of weeks, as they had the Lock-In on Friday October 13. Five companies and the HQ staff compete in many sporting events to find the superior team. Bravo Company and HQ went to the final many times to compete head to head. In events such as Ultimate Football, tug-of-war, soccer, volleyball, and koosh-ball.
Seven students in the program were also selected to visit K-State on Wednesday October 10th, not only to visit the campus but to also learn about the ROTC program there as well.
Bravo Company had also won company of the month for the first month of the year. As all the companies take off in the countdown to Cadet Ball to see who wins the Company of the Year Award.
