Here at North, we’ve made quite a few additions to our teaching staff. Amongst our new teachers, there is a new Art teacher and a new English teacher. Ms. Benton, our new Art teacher, decided to come to North because she grew up here in Wichita.

“I’ve always wanted to teach high school”, Benton said.

Ms. Benton chose to art because she enjoys it. She also is very good at teaching it to all kinds of students.

“Art is expressive, it can be really emotional and deep,” Benton said.

The art classes are all on the first floor, which makes not only Ms. Benton happy but many of the students as well. Ms. Benton teaches Drawing/Paint, Ceramics, Sculpture and Intro to Art.

Another new teacher is Ms. Compton. She is the new English teacher, so far she is enjoying the school and students.

“I chose North because I wanted to be back in the classroom, teaching students,” Compton said.

Ms. Compton’s favorite grade is Juniors, and her favorite class of Juniors to teach is American Literature.
