2017-2018 schedule change
April 12, 2017
The 2017-2018 schedule will be changed to 8 total classes with five classes each day. Tower time will be on red days instead of the original scheduled white day. Advocacy will still be on white days. Each class will be 84 minutes long instead of this years 97 minutes. School days will still be 8 am to 3:40 pm. The initial reason for the schedule change was to shorten the 97 minute class period. The extra class will be an elective not another core class. This will allow next years freshman to graduate with 36 credits if they pass every class. The required credits to graduate is only 23. The extra class gives students a bigger chance to fail more classes and could lower students GPA’s. “After the board decides which electives will be offered during the extra class the counselors will have the students pick from those electives during 10th hour.” Cottner said.
