The Swim and Dive City League Championship took place February 9th and 10th. North High’s Swim and Dive team finished 4th overall. But that was not the only accomplishment North High saw on Thursday. Divers Miguel Bernal and Isaac Hadorn both were honored as First Team All-City, and Taylor Thompson was named Second Team All-City. All three of these athletes will be competing at state. Bernal has placed first in every meet he has ever participated in and this being his first year diving makes it even more special. Bernal holds the North High record.

“It feels pretty good to win every time, but all that means is that I have to keep practicing to get ready for state,” Bernal said.

Bernal used to participate in tumbling for several years before he decided to join the swim team.

“I was good at tumbling and flipping, so I decided to give diving a chance.”

The state diving will start Thursday in Topeka, followed by prelim swim on Friday.
