A team of local swimmers will swim 100 miles total to make a young boy’s wish come true. This fifth annual event will start at 4:15 pm on Friday February 24th and will end Saturday February 26th. During this event, there will one swimmer in the pool at all times. Each swimmer will take turns swimming one mile at a time which is 71 lengths in a 25 yard pool. The swimmers will bring sleeping bags, cots, and air mattresses to sleep on when they are not swimming. The goal for this event is to raise $7,500 dollars. If each member of the swim team raises $500 the team  will reach their goal.  People are encouraged to make a donation or pledge for every mile that is swam. Thanks to charitable individuals and corporations, this 100 mile swimming relay has raised over $100,000 in the last four years. All proceeds will go to  Make-a -Wish Kansas. Make-a-Wish Kansas has served nearly 1,400 children and families in Kansas in the last 30 years.
