At the beginning of the year teachers, students, and even parents had to adjust to the new school schedule. When we asked how each individual felt, they said it was going to take some time to get used to, some students are still trying to get used to it and would like the schedule to go back to how it was. “I liked the old schedule because now we get exhausted and since there is less time in the year, we become more stressed on finals,” Jose Hernandez said. On the other hand, some students enjoy the longer days because we have longer breaks. “I like the fact that we are getting out sooner for Christmas break and summer break as well,” Suzy Garcia said.. Multiple teachers agreed that the only down side is that younger students who are in elementary school go to school and even come home in the dark. With Silverthorne being a part of YE, he has meetings to attend to and even has to go to SAM’s to restock Butch’s corner.  “I don’t think the longer school days are good for the students because everyone gets home later and students are more tired,” Silverthorne said.  Many of the teachers agree that they do agree that they enjoy having longer breaks but, they don’t really notice how long the day is until the last class period of the day.
