Students give back by wrapping presents

recently a few North High students wrapped gifts for children in need.

Grace point church recently wrapped presents for children in foster care at the D.C.C.C.A. The D.C.C.C.A is a non-profit agency that has been running for about 40 years. They have many functions including in and out patient care for substance abuse and they have a children’s home. For Three years Ms. Turnbow has given students a chance to help wrap the gifts this year seventeen North High students participated. Ms. Turnbow said, “There were so many people we had to sit on the floor to wrap the gifts. We probably wrapped just over three hundred presents. We just kept wrapping until there wasn’t wrapping paper left.” The gifts they wrapped came from Toys for tots, Toys for tot is a program run by the U.S marine corps reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford them or for children that are in foster care. Taten White a North High freshman was one of the students that helped wrapped presents he says, “I like to help others it makes for a good day and about eight years ago I was there in the children’s home so in a way I’m giving back.”
