Aces Fly By North 47-6
September 15, 2016
North went into the game with high expectations and good confidence. But it all slowly started falling apart.
The first let down was the game being delayed and then later postponed.
“There was a lot of momentum going into the rain delay. This always makes me wonder how it will affect their performance,” Coach Burgess said.
The energy displayed on Saturday was clearly different than the energy from the night before. Although the energy on the field was different, the crowd and fans were still present showing great spirit.
During the first half North’s starting quarterback Darius Russell suffered a broken thumb which had a great impact on the team’s performance for the remainder of the game.
Later on, Head Coach Joe Belden announced that Russell would need surgery.
The highlight of the game was junior Ty Buckner leading North in scoring the first touchdown of the season.
Buckner will be the starting quarterback on Friday, as North faces Southeast at 7 pm at Heights High School.
“We have two goals for Friday, to be better at tackling and to hunt for contact” Burgess said.
