Senior Monica Navarro was selected as a finalist for the Lowell Milken Unsung Hero Art Competition and is now competing for $7,500. Students had to draw a art piece of who they consider a hero, students also had to write a essay explaining their work and why they choose to do a piece of them. Monica choose Sylvia Mendez, a civil rights activist of Mexican-Puerto Rican heritage. The winner will be announced on April 1st.
