Rent-A-Senior

For more than 15years, seniors at North High have participated in Rent-A-Senior. Rent-A–Senior is a one day event that allows anyone in the building to ‘rent’ a senior and make them do, and dress up, however the renter likes. For example, Ray Murray had to wear a dress and sing ‘I’m a Little Tea Pot” every time someone gave him a quarter. All proceeds go toward project graduation.

Mr. Studer, of the English department, rented 14people this year for his own personal amusement.” He had never rented anyone before and said, “I thought if this is the only time I’ll rent a senior, I should do it right.” Four of the people he rented, Ashley Myer, Tyler Richards, Quinton Lough, and Hannah Coryea, had to dress up as the members of the hair band, KISS. Lough, who dressed up as Gene Simmons, said, “I wanted to get the whole senior experience. I wanted to participate in every activity I could before I graduated.” For 25 cents, a person could get a picture with them. Over the course of the day, the KISS impersonators had made a couple of dollars.

Studer’s other group that he rented, had to wear a T-shirt with Studer’s face on it. For the day, all 10of these students had to praise Studer and tell everyone how amazing he was for 25 cents. They even made posters saying how Studer had impacted their lives in a positive way. Studer definitely got a kick out of making the 14members of the class of 2015 do whatever he saw fit. Many others got rented as well. Their renters had them do things ranging from Angel Gonzales dancing like Micheal Jackson to Emily Jones acting as if she were a cat. The upcoming seniors are looking forward to their chance to be rented in their last week of high school just as countless classes before them have.
