Bee and Puppycat is an animated TV show created by Natasha Allegri, who is also known for storyboarding on the hit classic cartoon Adventure Time. Bee and Puppycat is centered around a girl named Bee who lives a normal life until she encounters a grumpy cat/dog creature named Puppycat, Now Bee and Puppycat travel dimensions to defeat Bee’s worst problem, Unemployment. The show is a great for all ages, though its targeted to young adults and teens. The humor, characters and plot are suitable for anyone to enjoy. The show is heavily underrated, and I decide that today was finally the day I will talk about my favorite series, show how amazing it is and why you should defiantly watch it.

The show premiered on July 11^th, 2013, and to this day I still see barely anyone talk about it. I still remember watching it late at night after school waiting months for new episodes to be uploaded to YouTube. The show is a hidden gem, it’s sad how much of a great show it is but no one seems to notice it. The show is based off Allegri’s graphic novels of Bee and Puppycat and her adventures they must meet this month’s rent. It’s a fresh take on the cliché plot of magical girls, but in Allegri’s perspective with a twist. Though on the surface it seems like a lighthearted kid’s cartoon, which it is at times, it goes deeper than that. I won’t spoil the story for you today because it’s better for you to go watch it and piece the story together yourself. I will say though there’s a lot of foreshadowing and re-watching the show a dozen of time’s I always manage to find new hints and clues to the plot every single time. What can I say, it’s my comfort show!

The animation, backgrounds, music, and the characters are all so well done and not to mention cute. The whole atmosphere and vibe that Allegri created when making the graphic novels is amplified in the show. I listen to the soundtrack while I bake and cook, and it feels so relaxing but upbeat. The show does a great job of using the cutesy look to make you off guard for its more serious moments, because you don’t really expect that. I just love this show to bits, it’s so creative and weird at times that you just get hooked on it. If you loved the weirdness and comfort Adventure time had, Or the relaxing and feisty plot moments of Steven universe, or even the underlying mystery that Gravity falls had , then this show is a definite watch for any cartoon lover. Or anyone who has some free time to watch something

As I mentioned before the whole 1^st season is available on YouTube for free. It’s an hour long and it also has a Spanish dub. The series has already created a 2^nd season and it will air on Netflix in 2022 which im super excited for. Bee and Puppycat: Lazy in space was set to air on VRV in late 2019, but due to unknown reasons they postponed the sequel till 2022 and choosing to air the show on Netflix. So its a great time to get into the show , as new fans will come in to enjoy the series alongside you. This is technically a 2^nd season but also not at the same time , Its consider its own series , hence the name , but youll be pretty lost if you didn’t watch the first series, which i recommend you do. Hopefully this will give Bee and Puppycat the attention it deserves, the show is amazing, and I highly recommend binging it on a Saturday night while you drink some tea.
