A Splash Into The Summer
April 16, 2021
Summer is right around the corner, and many people are excited to be going to the lake and/or to the pool to swim. Many pools and water parks closed down during the summer last year due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
This year, swimming pools and splash pads are just weeks away from opening in Wichita. Starting Memorial day all the way to October, a new water playground located 2700 N. Woodland in Evergreen Park will be open
to all the people of Wichita.
According to an interview Mayor Brandon Whipple had with KSN, he said they are keeping an eye on the spread of the coronavirus but are excited to give children a chance to play outside.
“We do hope that things are getting back to normal,” he said. “We are seeing improvements and, if so, we do want to make sure that these splash pads are open, that our parks are open.”
